RESUMO

BACKGROUND: Combination of chidamide and anti-PD-L1 inhibitor produce synergistic anti-tumor effect in advanced NSCLC patients resistant to anti-PD-1 treatment. However, the effect of chidamide plus envafolimab has not been reported. AIMS: This study aimed to evaluate the efficacy of chidamide plus envafolimab in advanced NSCLC patients resistant toanti-PD-1 treatment. MATERIALS AND METHODS: Eligible advanced NSCLC patients after resistant to anti-PD-1 therapy received chidamide and envafolimab. The primary endpoint was objective response rate (ORR). The secondary end points included disease control rate (DCR), progression-free survival (PFS), and safety. The expression of histone deacetylase 2 (HDAC2), PD-L1, and blood TMB (bTMB) was also analyzed. RESULTS: After a median follow-up of 8.1 (range: 7.6-9.2) months, only two patients achieved partial response. The ORR was 6.7% (2/30), DCR was 50% (15/30), and median PFS (mPFS) was 3.5 (95% confidence interval: 1.9-5.5) months. Biomarker analysis revealed that patients with high-level HDAC2 expression had numerically superior ORR (4.3% vs. 0), DCR (52.2% vs. 0) and mPFS (3.7 vs. 1.4m). Patients with negative PD-L1 had numerically superior DCR (52.2% vs. 33.3%) and mPFS (3.7m vs. 1.8m), so were those with low-level bTMB (DCR: 59.1% vs. 16.7%, mPFS: 3.8 vs.1.9m). Overall safety was controllable. DISCUSSION: High HDAC2patients showed better ORR, DCR, and PFS. In addition, patient with negative PD-L1 and low-level bTMB had better DCR and PFS. This may be related to the epigenetic function of chidamide. However, the sample size was not big enough, so it is necessary to increase sample size to confirm the conclusion. CONCLUSION: Combination of chidamide and envafolimab showed efficacy signals in certain NSCLC patients. But further identification of beneficial population is necessary for precision treatment.

Two yeast strains, designated as 19-39-3 and 19-40-2, obtained from the fruiting bodies of Trametes versicolor and Marasmius siccus collected in Yunwu Mountain Forest Park, PR China, have been identified as representing a novel asexual ascomycetous yeast species. From the results of phylogenetic analyses of the sequences of the D1/D2 domains of the large subunit (LSU) rRNA, small subunit (SSU) rRNA and translation elongation factor 1-α (TEF1) genes, it was determined that these strains represent a member of the genus Wickerhamomyces, with Wickerhamomyces alni and Candida ulmi as the closest relatives. The novel species exhibited 6.6 and 6.7% differences in the D1/D2 domains compared with W. alni and C. ulmi, respectively. Additionally, distinct biochemical and physiological differences were observed between the novel species and its related counterparts. No sexual reproduction was observed in these strains, leading to the proposal of the name Wickerhamomyces corioli f.a., sp. nov. for this newly discovered species.

In this paper, a bimetallic Na0.13Mg0.02V2O5·0.98H2O (NMVO) material with an interlayer spacing of 11.67 Å was synthesized by a simple preintercalation method as a cathode for zinc ionic batteries (ZIBs). The large layer spacing provides a wide channel for the embedding of Zn2+, resulting in high reversible capacity and ion diffusion kinetics. In addition, by virtue of the high electronic conductivity of metal ions, NMVO exhibits excellent electronic conductivity under the combined action of Na+ and Mg2+ bimetallic intercalation. At the same time, preintercalation ions and structural water act as interlayer pillars to stabilize the layer structure of NMVO during the cycling process. The above reasonable structural design endows the NMVO with excellent electrochemical performance. The battery with NMVO cathode delivers a high initial capacity of 126 mAh g-1 at 10 A g-1, and still remains at 76% after 5000 cycles, providing 100 Wh kg-1 energy density and 9.5 kW kg-1 power density (based on the mass of cathode). This bimetallic intercalation structure provides a general feasible scheme for the design of vanadium-based electrode materials.

Development of effective strategies to manage the inevitable acquired resistance to osimertinib, an approved 3rd generation EGFR inhibitor for the treatment of EGFR mutant (EGFRm) non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC), is urgently needed. This study reported that the DNA topoisomerase II (Topo II) inhibitors, doxorubicin and etoposide (VP-16) synergistically decreased cell survival with enhanced induction of DNA damage and apoptosis in osimertinib-resistant cells, suppressed the growth of osimertinib-resistant tumors, and delayed the emergence of osimertinib acquired resistance. Mechanistically, osimertinib decreased Topo IIα levels in EGFRm NSCLC cells by facilitating FBXW7-mediated proteasomal degradation, resulting in induction of DNA damage; these effects were lost in osimertinib-resistant cell lines possessing elevated levels of Topo IIα. Topo IIα elevation was also detected in the majority of EGFRm NSCLC tissues relapsed from EGFR-TKI treatment. Enforced expression of an ectopic TOP2A gene in sensitive EGFRm NSCLC cells conferred resistance to osimertinib, whereas knockdown of TOP2A in osimertinib-resistant cell lines restored their response to undergo osimertinib-induced DNA damage and apoptosis. Together, these results reveal an essential role of Topo IIα inhibition in mediating the therapeutic efficacy of osimertinib against EGFRm NSCLC, providing scientific rationale for targeting Topo II to manage acquired resistance to osimertinib.

To address the low-carbon treatment requirements for municipal wastewater, a novel anaerobic acidification membrane bioreactor (AAMBR) was developed for recovering organic matter in terms of volatile fatty acids (VFAs). While the AAMBR successfully generated VFAs from municipal wastewater through forward osmosis (FO) membrane concentration, its operation was limited to a single pH value of 10.0. Here, performance of the AAMBR operating at acidic condition was evaluated and compared with that at alkaline condition. The findings revealed that the AAMBR with pH 5.0 efficiently transformed organic matter into acetic acid, propionic acid, and butyric acid, resulting in a VFAs yield of 0.48 g/g-CODfeed. In comparison with the AAMBR at pH 10.0, this study achieved a similar VFAs yield, a lower fouling tendency, a lower loss of nutrients and a lower controlling cost. In conclusion, this study demonstrated that a pH of 5.0 is optimal for the AAMBR treating municipal wastewater.

Background: Treatment options remain rather limited for extensive disease small cell lung cancer (ED-SCLC) patients in second or further-line setting. Methods: The phase 2 investigator-initiated non-randomized study enrolled patients who had disease progression on at least one line of platinum-based chemotherapy. Participants received intravenous sintilimab 200 mg on day one and oral daily anlotinib 12 mg on days 1-14 once every three weeks per cycle. The primary endpoint was progression-free survival (PFS). The secondary endpoints included overall survival (OS), objective response rate (ORR), disease control rate (DCR) and safety. This study is registered with ClinicalTrials.gov (NCT04055792). Findings: Forty-two patients were enrolled between August 29, 2019 and December 26, 2021 at Henan Cancer Hospital in China. 37 patients were evaluable for efficacy. The median follow-up was 24.8 months (IQR: 16.9-28.2). The median PFS was 6.1 months (95% CI: 5.0-7.3). The OS was 12.7 months (95% CI: 7.1-18.2). The ORR was 56.8% (21/37, 95% CI: 40.0-73.5) and the DCR was 89.2% (33/37, 95% CI: 78.7-99.7). Forty patients (40/42, 95%) had at least one treatment-related adverse event (TRAE). Immune-related adverse events (irAEs) were reported in 39 patients (39/42, 93%), while grade 3 or higher irAEs occurred in 11 patients (11/42, 26%). The most frequent irAEs were hypothyroidism (16/42, 38%), elevated gamma-glutamyl transpeptidase (15/42, 36%) and elevated creatine kinase MB (15/42, 36%). The most frequent grade 3 or higher irAEs were elevated gamma-glutamyl transpeptidase (5/42, 12%) and increased aspartate aminotransferase (3/42, 7%). Interpretation: Sintilimab plus anlotinib demonstrated promising antitumor activities as second or further-line therapy for ED-SCLC and had manageable toxicities. The findings support further randomized controlled trials of this combination regimen for ED-SCLC. Background: Programmed cell death protein-1/programmed cell death protein-ligand 1 (PD-1/PD-L1) inhibitor and chemotherapy are the standard treatment for advanced non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) without sensitizing mutations. However, patients with untreated, symptomatic or recently-irradiated brain metastases (BMs) are mostly excluded from immunochemotherapy trials. This study aims to evaluate the intracranial response pattern, tolerability and biomarkers of tislelizumab plus chemotherapy in NSCLC with untreated, symptomatic or recently-irradiated BM. Methods: This multicenter, single-arm, phase 2 trial enrolled patients with treatment-naïve, brain-metastasized NSCLC. BM could be untreated or irradiated. Symptomatic or recently-irradiated BMs that were deemed clinically stable were allowed. Patients received tislelizumab (200 mg) plus pemetrexed (500 mg/m2) and carboplatin (AUC =5) on day 1 every 3 weeks for 4 cycles, followed by maintenance with tislelizumab plus pemetrexed. Primary endpoint was 1-year progression-free survival (PFS) rate. Secondary endpoints included intracranial efficacy and tolerability. PD-L1 expression, tumor mutational burden (TMB) and genomic alterations were evaluated as potential biomarkers. Results: A total of 36 patients were enrolled, 19.2% had prior brain radiotherapy, 8.3% had symptomatic BMs that required corticosteroids ≤10 mg/d or antiepileptics. Confirmed systemic and intracranial ORR (iORR) was 43.8% and 46.7%, respectively. One-year systematic PFS rate and One-year iPFS rate was 36.8% and 55.8%, respectively. About 41.7% patients had neurological adverse events, 90% patients had concordant intracranial-extracranial responses. No intracranial pseudoprogression or hyperprogression occurred. Patients with prior brain radiation trended towards higher systemic (83.3% vs. 34.6%) and iORR (75.0% vs. 42.3%). Similar intracranial efficacy was observed in tumors with different PD-L1 and TMB levels, while alterations in cytokine receptors pathway predicted higher iORR (P=0.081), prolonged systematic PFS [hazard ratio (HR) =0.16, P=0.021] and overall survival (OS) (HR =0.71, P=0.029). Conclusions: Untreated or irradiated BMs in NSCLC follows a conventional response and progression pattern under immunochemotherapy with altered cytokine receptors pathway being a potential biomarker for systemic and intracranial outcomes.

Interleukin (IL)-6 has anti- and pro-inflammatory functions, controlled by IL-6 classic and trans-signaling, respectively. Differences in the downstream signaling mechanism between IL-6 classic and trans-signaling have not been identified. Here, we report that IL-6 activates glycolysis to regulate the inflammatory response. IL-6 regulates glucose metabolism by forming a complex containing signal-transducing activators of transcription 3 (STAT3), hexokinase 2 (HK2), and voltage-dependent anion channel 1 (VDAC1). The IL-6 classic signaling directs glucose flux to oxidative phosphorylation (OxPhos), while IL-6 trans-signaling directs glucose flux to anaerobic glycolysis. Classic IL-6 signaling promotes STAT3 translocation into mitochondria to interact with pyruvate dehydrogenase kinase-1 (PDK1), leading to pyruvate dehydrogenase α (PDHA) dissociation from PDK1. As a result, PDHA is dephosphorylated, and STAT3 is phosphorylated at Ser727. By contrast, IL-6 trans-signaling promotes the interaction of sirtuin 2 (SIRT2) and lactate dehydrogenase A (LDHA), leading to the dissociation of STAT3 from SIRT2. As a result, LDHA is deacetylated, and STAT3 is acetylated and phosphorylated at Tyr705. IL-6 classic signaling promotes the differentiation of regulatory T cells via the PDK1/STAT3/PDHA axis, whereas IL-6 trans-signaling promotes the differentiation of Th17 cells via the SIRT2/STAT3/LDHA axis. Conclusion: IL-6 classic signaling generates anti-inflammatory functions by shifting energy metabolism to OxPhos, while IL-6 trans-signaling generates pro-inflammatory functions by shifting energy metabolism to anaerobic glycolysis.

To determine the genotypes of the epidemic strains of Echinococcus granulosus in livestock in Tibet, samples of E. granulosus cysts were collected from 11 yaks and 62 sheep. Genomic DNA was extracted from these samples, and gene fragments of mitochondrial cytochrome c oxidase subunit I (cox1) and NADH dehydrogenase subunit I (nad1) were amplified by PCR and sequenced. DNASTAR and MAGA7.0 were employed for homology analysis and phylogenetic tree construction. Echinococcus granulosus cysts were detected in 56.2% (41/73) of the samples screened. Of these, 63.4% (26/41) were identified as E. granulosus G1 genotype (common sheep strain), 24.4% (10 /41) as G3 genotype (buffalo strain), and 12.2% (5/41) were G6 genotype (camel strain). The study concludes that yaks and sheep in Langkazi county, Tibet, carry three E. granulosus genotypes (G1, G3, and G6), with the G1 genotype the predominant genotype in the region. This study clarifies the distribution of E. granulosus genotypes, providing genetic data and insight for the surveillance and prevention of echinococcosis.

INTRODUCTION: Endometriosis (EM) is a multifactorial disease that affects 10 - 15% of women of reproductive age. Additionally, 30-50% of women with EM suffer from infertility. The mechanism of infertility caused by EM has not yet been consistently explained. In recent years, studies have shown a link between infertility associated with EM and changes in the reproductive tract microbiota. METHODS: In this study, we involved 26 EM patients (8 cases of stage I-II and 18 cases of stage III-IV) and 31 control subjects who were tubal obstruction-related infertility (TORI). The samples from peritoneal fluid (PF) and uterine fluid (UF) were collected and sequenced by 16 S rRNA amplicon. RESULTS: In the comparison of microbial diversity, we found no significant differences in the microbial diversity of PF and UF between patients with stage I-II EM and those with TORI. However, there was a significant difference in microbial diversity among patients with stage III-IV EM compared to the previous two groups. Lactobacillus decreased in PF of EM compared to the control group, while it increased in UF. In PF, the abundance of Pseudomonas, Enterococcus, Dubosiella and Klebsiella was significantly higher in patients with stage III-IV compared to TORI patients. And in UF, the main differences existed between stage I-II EM compared to the other two groups. The abundance of pontibacter, aquabacterium, Rikenellaceae and so on at the genus level was significantly enriched in the EM patients with stage I-II. In the analysis based on KEGG database, EM may affect the receptivity related pathways of the endometrium by influencing changes in the uterine microbiota. CONCLUSION: Our results indicated that as EM progresses, the microorganisms in UF and PF keep changing. These changes in the microbiota, as well as the resulting alternations in gene functional classification, may play an important role in the infertility associated with EM.

Although immunotherapy has made breakthrough progress, its efficacy in solid tumours remains unsatisfactory. Exosomes are the main type of extracellular vesicles that can deliver various intracellular molecules to adjacent or distant cells and organs, mediating various biological functions. Studies have found that exosomes can both activate the immune system and inhibit the immune system. The antigen and major histocompatibility complex (MHC) carried in exosomes make it possible to develop them as anticancer vaccines. Exosomes derived from blood, urine, saliva and cerebrospinal fluid can be used as ideal biomarkers in cancer diagnosis and prognosis. In recent years, exosome-based therapy has made great progress in the fields of drug transportation and immunotherapy. Here, we review the composition and sources of exosomes in the solid cancer immune microenvironment and further elaborate on the potential mechanisms and pathways by which exosomes influence immunotherapy for solid cancers. Moreover, we summarize the potential clinical application prospects of engineered exosomes and exosome vaccines in immunotherapy for solid cancers. Eventually, these findings may open up avenues for determining the potential of exosomes for diagnosis, treatment, and prognosis in solid cancer immunotherapy.

OBJECTIVE: To analyze the factors associated with EGFR-mutated lung cancer with leptomeningeal metastasis (LM) in the real world that affects the prognosis of patients. MATERIALS AND METHODS: The clinical data of 123 patients with advanced EGFR mutated lung cancer combined with LM treated at Henan Cancer Hospital and confirmed by histology between January 2016 and December 2020 were retrospectively collected, and all patients were followed up until September 2021. Analyze the median overall survival (mOS) time of patients with clinical characteristics and treatment factors to explore the factors influencing the prognosis of lung cancer patients with LM. RESULTS: A total of 123 patients with EGFR-mutated lung cancer and LM were included in this study. Overall, patients with exon 19 deletion (19del) in the classical mutation of the EGFR gene had a prolonged mOS compared to patients with exon 21 L858R mutation (21L858R) (30.1 months vs. 26.0 months); patients with primary LM (mOS 21.2 months) had a significantly shorter mOS than those with secondary LM (mOS 28.3 months); mOS was also significantly shorter in patients with combined brain metastases (mOS of 25.4 months) than in patients without combined brain metastases (mOS of 33.4 months); Patients treated with tyrosine kinase inhibitors (TKI) combined with antiangiogenic therapy (bevacizumab) experienced delayed onset of LM (mOS1: 19.4 months vs. 13.9 months), and prolonged survival after LM compared with those treated with EGFR-TKI alone (mOS2: 14.5 months vs. 10.0 months); There is no survival benefit to the patients treated with EGFR-TKI combined with chemotherapy compared to the patients treated with EGFR-TKI alone. CONCLUSION: Among NSCLC-LM patients with EGFR mutation, receiving EGFR-TKI combined with antiangiogenic therapy may result in a better survival benefit. The factors of primary LM, combined brain metastasis may be prognostic factors for poor OS.

Introduction: In Chinese patients with NSCLC, prevalence of EGFR-mutated (EGFRm) disease is high. In the global phase 3 ADAURA study (NCT02511106), adjuvant osimertinib was found to have a statistically significant and clinically meaningful improvement in disease-free survival (DFS) versus placebo in resected stage IB to IIIA EGFRm NSCLC. We present efficacy and safety data from a subgroup analysis of 159 Chinese patients enrolled in the People's Republic of China from ADAURA. Methods: In ADAURA, patients with completely resected stage IB to IIIA EGFRm (exon 19 deletion/exon 21 L858R) NSCLC were randomized 1:1 to receive osimertinib (80 mg once daily) or placebo for 3 years or until disease recurrence/discontinuation. Adjuvant chemotherapy was permitted before randomization, per physician/patient choice. Primary end point was investigator-assessed DFS in stage II to IIIA disease; secondary end points included DFS in stage IB to IIIA (overall population), overall survival, health-related quality of life (HRQoL), and safety. Results: Of 682 patients enrolled globally, 159 patients in the People's Republic of China were included in this subgroup analysis (osimertinib n = 77; placebo n = 82). Baseline characteristics were balanced across the treatment arms. At data cutoff, stage II to IIIA DFS hazard ratio (HR) was 0.23 (95% confidence interval [CI]: 0.13-0.42; maturity 59%); stage IB to IIIA DFS HR was 0.29 (95% CI: 0.17-0.48; maturity 42%). At 13% maturity (21 deaths), HR for overall survival in the stage IB to IIIA population was 0.51 (95% CI: 0.21-1.20). HRQoL was maintained from baseline, and safety was consistent with the global population. Conclusions: In this population of Chinese patients from ADAURA, adjuvant osimertinib was found to have a clinically meaningful improvement in DFS versus placebo, with maintained HRQoL and a safety profile consistent with the global study population.

The multifaceted chemo-immune resistance is the principal barrier to achieving cure in cancer patients. Identifying a target that is critically involved in chemo-immune-resistance represents an attractive strategy to improve cancer treatment. iRhom1 plays a role in cancer cell proliferation and its expression is negatively correlated with immune cell infiltration. Here we show that iRhom1 decreases chemotherapy sensitivity by regulating the MAPK14-HSP27 axis. In addition, iRhom1 inhibits the cytotoxic T-cell response by reducing the stability of ERAP1 protein and the ERAP1-mediated antigen processing and presentation. To facilitate the therapeutic translation of these findings, we develop a biodegradable nanocarrier that is effective in codelivery of iRhom pre-siRNA (pre-siiRhom) and chemotherapeutic drugs. This nanocarrier is effective in tumor targeting and penetration through both enhanced permeability and retention effect and CD44-mediated transcytosis in tumor endothelial cells as well as tumor cells. Inhibition of iRhom1 further facilitates tumor targeting and uptake through inhibition of CD44 cleavage. Co-delivery of pre-siiRhom and a chemotherapy agent leads to enhanced antitumor efficacy and activated tumor immune microenvironment in multiple cancer models in female mice. Targeting iRhom1 together with chemotherapy could represent a strategy to overcome chemo-immune resistance in cancer treatment.

INTRODUCTION: Trilaciclib is a transient cyclin-dependent kinase 4/6 inhibitor that decreases the incidence of chemotherapy-induced myelosuppression in extensive-stage small cell lung cancer (ES-SCLC). TRACES study was designed to assess the safety, efficacy and pharmacokinetics (PK) of trilaciclib before chemotherapy in Chinese patients with ES-SCLC. METHODS: The study included an open-label safety run-in part (Part 1) and double-blinded, placebo-controlled part (Part 2) where patients received trilaciclib or placebo before chemotherapy. Treatment-naïve or previously treated ES-SCLC patients received intravenous trilaciclib (240 mg/m2) or placebo before etoposide/carboplatin or topotecan, respectively. Primary endpoints were PK, safety and duration of severe neutropenia (DSN) in Cycle 1 in Part 1 and Part 2. Exploratory endpoints included the effect of trilaciclib on other myeloprotection endpoints, safety and antitumor efficacy. RESULTS: Overall, 95 Chinese patients were enrolled, of which 12 and 83 patients were in Part 1 and Part 2, respectively. In Part 1, trilaciclib was well tolerated. Non-compartmental analysis results revealed no substantial differences in the main exposure parameters. In Part 2, 41 patients received trilaciclib, and 42 received placebo. Patients in trilaciclib arm vs placebo arm had a clinically and statistically significant decrease in DSN (mean [SD]) in Cycle 1 (0 [1.7] vs 2 [3.0] days; P = 0.0003), with improvements in additional neutrophil, red blood cell, and platelet measures. After a median follow-up of 14.1 months, the median overall survival was 12.0 months in trilaciclib arm and 8.8 months in placebo arm (HR, 0.69; 95 % CI: 0.40-1.22). Median progression-free survival was 4.8 months and 4.3 months, respectively (HR, 0.86; 95 % CI: 0.53-1.39). Trilaciclib had a well-tolerated safety profile. CONCLUSIONS: Trilaciclib in the Chinese population demonstrated a similar PK and safety profile as seen in other global trials. There was significant reduction of DSN in Cycle 1, thereby substantiating the myeloprotective effects of trilaciclib in Chinese ES-SCLC patients.

WEE1 and CHEK1 (CHK1) kinases are critical regulators of the G2/M cell cycle checkpoint and DNA damage response pathways. The WEE1 inhibitor AZD1775 and the CHK1 inhibitor SRA737 are in clinical trials for various cancers, but have not been thoroughly examined in prostate cancer, particularly castration-resistant (CRPC) and neuroendocrine prostate cancers (NEPC). Our data demonstrated elevated WEE1 and CHK1 expressions in CRPC and NEPC cell lines and patient samples. AZD1775 resulted in rapid and potent cell killing with comparable IC50s across different prostate cancer cell lines, while SRA737 displayed time-dependent progressive cell killing with 10- to 20-fold differences in IC50s. Notably, their combination synergistically reduced the viability of all CRPC cell lines and tumor spheroids in a concentration- and time-dependent manner. Importantly, in a transgenic mouse model of NEPC, both agents alone or in combination suppressed tumor growth, improved overall survival, and reduced the incidence of distant metastases, with SRA737 exhibiting remarkable single agent anticancer activity. Mechanistically, SRA737 synergized with AZD1775 by blocking AZD1775-induced feedback activation of CHK1 in prostate cancer cells, resulting in increased mitotic entry and accumulation of DNA damage. In summary, this preclinical study shows that CHK1 inhibitor SRA737 alone and its combination with AZD1775 offer potential effective treatments for CRPC and NEPC.

Pseudocapacitive material can achieve rapid charge and discharge response. In this study, a vanadium-based conductive network hydrate (Na0.13Mg0.02)V2O5·0.98H2O (NMVO) was designed. The Na+ and Mg2+ in NMVO are sandwiched between two layers of vacancy-ordered prisms and monoclinic nanonetwork V3O7 (VO2:V2O5 = 1:1) to form a conductive network with a layer spacing of up to 11.67 Å, this structure facilitates rapid interlayer diffusion of cations and enhanced conductivity. Reduction-NMVO (r-NMVO) with hierarchical heterostructures was prepared via an in-situ electrochemical process to generate interlayer vanadium-based active sites (LiV3O8, LiV2O5, Na3V3O8, MgVO3) with multi-electron reaction, which enhanced the generation of surface redox pseudocapacitance. The interlayer heterostructure is integrated with the core of the precursor V3O7 to form an active site-rich conductive network with strong pulse impact resistance, which promotes the generation of intercalated pseudocapacitance and increases the cycle stability of the electrode. This intercalation-surface redox pseudocapacitive mechanism was confirmed by first-principles, in-situ, and ex-situ characterization analysis. The r-NMVO|Li battery still maintains a capacity of 95.5 % after 65,500 cycles at a current density of 50 A g-1. These results contribute directly to the realization of stable, fast charge and discharge material design.

Two yeast strains designated as 20-27-1 and 20-28 were isolated from the fruiting bodies of Tricholoma gambosum and Marasmius maximus, respectively, which were collected in Wudaogou, Weichang county, Chengde area, Hebei Province, China. The multi-locus analysis of the sequences of the rDNA ITS, D1/D2 LSU, and SSU regions, together with partial sequences of two protein-coding genes RPB1 and TEF1 indicates that the two strains are closely related to Nakazawaea ernobii and Nakazawaea holstii, showing the similarity values of 99.3-98.7%, 97.2-97.1%, 91.9-92.5%, and 84.6% in D1/D2 LSU, ITS, TEF1, and RPB1, respectively. Physiologically, the two strains are different from N. ernobii and N. holstii in the assimilation of melibiose, inulin, and DL-lactic acid. Both the phenotypic and phylogenetic analyses indicate that those two strains represent a novel species in the genus Nakazawaea, for which the name Nakazawaea tricholomae f.a., sp. nov. (Fungal Names: FN 571492) is proposed.

This study evaluated the influence of chestnut powder, produced using ball mill superfine grinding (BMSG), jet superfine grinding (JSG), and ordinary grinding (OG), on wheat flour properties. Blending wheat flour with chestnut powder resulted in a darker flour blend (3 % decline of L*), with decreased the tap density and increased water holding capacity. Adding appropriate proportion of superfine chestnut powder can bolster the mixed flour's thermal stability (15 % BMSG/JSG) and freeze-thaw stability (10 % BMSG/JSG), while significantly enhancing the anti-aging properties of flour products. The proposition of 5 % superfine BMSG/JSG did not significantly affect the tensile resistance of the dough, and even improve the dough's tensile strength. In addition, the hardness, adhesiveness, springiness and pH of fermentation increased due to the addition of chestnut powder, as supported by the dough texture analyses and fermentation characteristics findings. However, the excessive addition of chestnut powder affected the dough network's structural integrity to some extent. Further study can focus on the influencing mechanism of chestnut powder on gluten formation and related nutritional properties. Overall, this research underscores the potential of utilizing chestnut powder to enhance the nutritional and functional qualities of wheat-based products.
